I was born and raised in the mountains of Montana, and spent much of my childhood exploring the wilderness through hiking, skiing, camping, and horseback riding. By studying adventure education and human development at Prescott College in Arizona, I was able to gain experience leading groups in the backcountry as well as perfecting my facilitation skills. I now work as the Education Coordinator at the Douglas County Museum, and have been enjoying exploring the Umpqua Valley with my dog, Rylee.

Meet Our Team

I have explored many other regions but I am native to Douglas County and have chosen to make this place my home. My son and I spend a lot of time backpacking this county searching for new fishing, hunting and edible plant gathering spots and learning more about our symbiotic relationship with the forest.  I have made the study of the wild areas and the vast history of this county a focal point in my life. A seemingly endless number of recreational and educational opportunities lay in the mountains and valleys between Mount Thielsen and Winchester Bay and I find it rewarding to share these things with others.

Both of our leaders are currently AmeriCorps service members!
